First Day of (Pre)School!

At 2 years and 3 months old, Whitney was off to her first day of preschool on September 1.  Seems odd, she's just a little baby, but she did great!  She started in Miss Janet's class at The Nurtury.  Now that we're full fledged Moragans, I actually (and amazingly) already knew 5 of the kids (including Whit) in her little class of 8 kids!  Lucky Whitney to have her friends Eli, Isabelle, JP and Lils in the same class as her.

Whitney was very excited to put her new Dora backpack to use, insisting her Panda come with her (which we had to stealthly remove before entering her classroom).

It was Gwen's second day of school - Whit finally got to go to with her big
sister.

When we arrived in her classroom, Whitney quickly took to all the toys and babies in the room and was happily playing... until she learned that Mommy and Daddy were leaving.  Then, there was some screaming and crying.  Poor Whit.  However, as much braver parents this year (vs. when we lingered forever on Gwen's first day 2 years ago), we just headed to the car.  On the ride home, Miss Janet sent me a text saying Whit had stopped crying and was having fun.

At home that evening, Whit told me she didn't want to go back to school.  But, by Day #2 the next week, she happily entered her classroom, waved me off and repeated to me "Bye Bye!  Bye Bye!".  Little Miss Independent!

This was also Gwen's second day back at The Nurtury, where she is in Miss Debbie's Pre-K class.  Gwen is joined by some of her former classmates, including one of her BFFs, Lola!  Here are some scenes from the prior day's back to school festivities.  So far, Gwen's had no hesitation walking into her classroom and saying goodbye to me.  Last year, she still clung a little at drop-off, wanting lots of hugs and taking time before she was ready to part, sometimes even with tears.  I guess my little girl is growing up!

Happy to be back!
