Wrapping up the Swim Summer

We had another successful swim season - full of daily practices, socials, twice-weekly meets and topped off by the always dizzying OMPA.  This year, we had 2 official swimmers, both popping their times like crazy all season.  In fact, little Whitney earned Most Improved for all 8 & Under girls!  She also won 3rd place for number of pops for the season for 8 &U and Gwen took the #2 spot in the category, which was particularly impressive since Gwen's starting times weren't half bad!

Sporting her trophy for Most Improved swimmer

Gwen ended the season with her first sub-20 time with a 19.86s freestyle (she actually popped that time at Intrasquad, but apparently no one officially recorded the results of that race!).  She was less than a second off silver and less than half a second from bronze in breast and back (29.31 in breast, 27.83 in back).  I couldn't find her fly time since she rarely swam it and our team's records are spotty, but her stroke looked great!  We can't wait for her up year!

Whitney, my barely 5 year old, ended her season with a 36.58 free and 48.97 in back :).

Some highlights of OMPA…

same heat for free and breast - what are the odds?

Whitney off the blocks!
