Gwen decided she wanted a disco dance party for the 7th birthday back in September. So, after literally months of planning, the big day was finally here! We've been trying out our disco dance equipment a couple of times over the last few weeks, so these girls were ready to boogie.
The party started out with make-overs including hair chalk, flashing hair accessories, face painting, glitter tattoos and manicures. I had to recruit a few 'big girls' from the neighborhood to help style up our little ladies.
Then the dance party began!
Although I had thoughtfully planned the several activities for the girls, one of the biggest hits was when the silver curtain you see hanging in the previous pictures fell down and the girls proceeded to tear it apart in a frenzy!
After dancing, we decorated cupcakes, sang happy birthday and Gwen blew out her 7 year old candle.
Then it was more dancing...
At first, I was kind of sad that all my hours and hours of planning and prepping were going to go by in a quick 2 hours. However, the party felt like it went on forever and the girls had so much fun, it was worth every minute!
