Two weeks off school
and no plans of which to speak, meant lots of family fun -
I'll recap here our first week.
We started Xmas break with nothing to do,
so Gwen, Whitney and Paige enjoyed a day at the zoo!
We saw turtles and monkeys, the girls rode a toy Jeep,
and they had lots of fun petting goats and brushing sheep.
One Christmas Eve, an adventure we thought nifty,
so we hopped in the car and headed to the city.
Sea lions, shows, a carousel and mirror maze -
the girls had enough fun to last them for days!
but Gwen was determined to spot Santa in the sky.
She stared out her window until past 11pm -
and then ran into our room, exclaiming "I saw him!"
It was a quick flash of light, much faster than a plane,
"It must have been him" she said again and again.

| The calm before the storm. |
With wrapping paper, boxes and ribbons wreaking havoc
Mom taking pictures, Dad unpackaging toys
Of dolls, jewelry, make-up and art - remember we have girls and not boys
Gwen was most excited to give us the gifts she had conceived
I think she's learned it more fun to give than receive.
We spent Christmas day in all our lazy glory
Playing with new toys and watching A Christmas Story.
Some play time with Danielle is always a winner
As was our (Gwen requested) special Christmas rib dinner.
More Christmas time pictures below-
Leaving them out would be a crime
But I'll let them speak for themselves
Because it's getting too hard to rhyme.
