For her 6th birthday, Whitney finally got her wish of an American Girl Doll from Grandma Harriet. With gift certificate in hand, we made a weekend out of visiting the American Girl store at the Stanford Mall. While she waffled a bit on which doll she wanted (Caroline was always the front runner, but Rebecca was also a favorite - until Whitney found out Rebecca's 'thing' was being an actress on stage. That's Whitney's nightmare!), but ultimately went with her first instinct and got her precious Caroline.

And we can't be in good ol' PA without visiting Aunty Eva! Whitney and I spent the night at Eva's place using the pool, taking her dogs on walks, having dinner and visiting mom's alma mater. After Whitney went to bed, Eva and I even got to sneak out with some Stanford friends and hit Castro Street late night - just like old times!

On the way home, we hit Target where Whitney used her birthday money from her other grandma to buy several outfits for Caroline and an American Girl Doll carrier. All the AGD frenzy has renewed Gwen's interest in her doll, Kaya, and Paige is now lobbying for a Kit doll for herself!
