Whitney's first 1:1 mommy-daughter trip! We escaped to Waikiki Beach the first week of March for some fun in the sun. Our hotel, the Outrigger Waikiki Beach, was in a great spot to walk out to the beach or to the bustling downtown full of shaved ice, restaurants, and shops.
Our first morning, we woke up super early due to jet lag and had the beach to ourselves for a bit while waiting for this catamaran to take us on a snorkeling trip. She was the youngest one on our boat and was a little intimidated being out in the great wide ocean, but she lasted long enough to see fish and a couple of huge turtles!
One day, we checked out Pearl Harbor. An amazing story that Whitney was a little too young to appreciate.
Back in Waikiki, we enjoyed the great restaurants at our resort and walking around town looking for little shops. Whitney even got to try my favorite childhood ice cream - Baskin Robbins' Daiquiri Ice. It was a hit with my little taste bud twin!
On our last night, Whitney got dressed in her Hawaiian best for a luau. It was one of the highlights of her trip (although I didn't think it compared to the luaus on Maui).
After 4 nights in paradise, Whitney was very sad to say goodbye to the beach and return home. After brunch at the beautiful Moana Surfrider next door (where Whitney lost a tooth!), we headed to the airport. Until next time, Hawaii!
