To close out our summer, we decided to explore unchartered territory and go RV camping! We got a great recommendation for a campsite called Fowlers Camp in the Shasta-Trinity National Park which was surrounded by rivers and waterfalls. The RV was huge, plenty of room for our family of 5 with beds to spare. The scenery was gorgeous and the kids were kept busy with short hikes, playing in the river, jumping off cliffs (into ice cold water), skipping rocks in the lake at nearby cattle camp, exploring the Shasta caverns, biking around the campsite and making some new friends.
Traveling by RV has its conveniences for sure, but as I'm writing this 2 months later, motion sickness and the fact that we didn't know we're supposed to use chemicals to treat the black tank are top of mind. Definitely beats a tent, probably even beats a dusty, dirty cabin, but I think the Ritz in Tahoe might actually be the way to go!
