Gwen started piano 2 months before her 12th birthday. She never quite took to the flute, her chosen school instrument. In fact, it was the only "2" she ever received on her report card all through elementary school. However, she has progressed in piano at a staggering pace. Her teacher says no one has even learned "The Entertainer" faster and Gwen is enjoying breezing through classical and contemporary pieces alike. In her first recital, she was the 3rd to last performer (meaning the 3rd most advanced) of all, surpassing older kids who have taken piano for years. And she enjoyed performing in her first recital (even though we had to sit through a lot of painful 6 year old performances!). She played 2 classical pieces and Maroon5's Animals.
