Spring Break Pt 2

The latter half of the week was as fun filled as the first.

On Wednesday, we did an after work playdate with some of Gwen's preschool friends at the park.  It is so fun to see the kids play together and interact - they're such a tight knit crew.

Thursday I took the day off work again so I was able to bring Gwen to Whitney's usual playgroup which meets on Thursday mornings.  With sibling all off school this week, Gwen was able to play with Benjamin's older brothers and hit if off with 6 year old Patrick.  They played tag, jumped on his rope swing and rode scooters around the Preece's backyard.  By the end, he shared his special Easter cookie with Gwen and the two of them sat outside talking and eating their cookies while the rest of us were inside.  We'll have to keep an eye on him these coming years!

Friday was a work day for Mommy so the girls were cooped up at home, but we more than made up for that on Saturday by spending the day at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom!

Gwen was a little daredevil.  She loves roller coasters and has no fear in her!  When we walked in, she saw the big, main coaster and said "I want to on THAT".  Unfortunately, she's still a couple of feet too short.  We were able to take her a few non-kiddie rides (the one in the first photo below, a family roller coaster and the pirate ship) and she was braver than even I was on them.  Otherwise, it was lots of kid rides that both girls loved.

Discovery Kingdom is great because it's like an amusement park, zoo and aquarium in one!  We'll have to catch more of the animal next time (which we'll definitely do thanks to our season pass!) but we did see walruses, butterflies, koi, lions, camels and Gwen was even able to feed the giraffes!

Adam can't resist the carnival games...

And no amusement park trip is complete without a photo with the characters!
