I may look like your typical a mom of 2 on the outside, especially when you see me driving around in my SUV, hauling around a bag filled with diapers and sippy cups. However, a star-struck, boy-crazy teenager still lurks on the inside. With no more Twilight books to read and several months before Breaking Dawn pt 1 comes out, teeny-bopper Connie got to stretch her legs this weekend during a kid-free trip to Vegas to see Glee Live!

As big Top Chef fans, we were deciding whether to have
dinner at Hubert Keller's restaurant or Rick Moonen's place.
We were very pleased with our decision to try Fleur.
Here is the Mac-n-Cheese that Keller made in the shower
on Top Chef Masters. It was delicious! |

The kids were left back in Moraga with our friends, the Cecchins. I was so worried that Whitney would be miserable without me, but turns out she had no problem saying goodbye and had a blast playing with her friends. When we returned from our trip, she did give me a running hug, which almost knocked me down.
Without me there all weekend, Whitney was forced to communicate with words instead of just grunting and having me know exactly what she wanted. So, when we picked her up, she told me "I gave the baby a bottle!". That may have been the longest sentence she's ever said!
In exchange for taking the girls for the weekend, we took Joey and Clara a couple of weeks earlier. Gwen said to me "When Clara and Joey were at our house, their mommy and daddy were in Santa Rosa. When Whitney and I were at Clara and Joey's house, you and daddy were in Las Vegas". That about sums it up.
