And so it begins...

We've been talking about putting an addition on our house since we moved in, but the thought of a major (and in my opinion kind of unnecessary) remodel was so daunting, I never thought we'd actually do it.  But, with baby #3 on the way, we'll be down one bedroom so Adam has decided he needs more closet space (and a completely frivolous steam shower), so goodbye savings, hello pimped out master suite.

But, it'll be a long and hard road until we get there... For the next who knows how long, we will be without our playroom, half our kitchen, our guest room, our bedroom, our bathroom and our downstairs heat!

In order to prep for the 2nd story addition, we have to re-enforce our walls and ceiling to hold the weight.  So, for a couple of weeks, our playroom looked something like this:

But, we of course could not live without a playroom, so we turned our dining room into a temporary playroom.  I actually like having the playroom right there next to the family room and am contemplating keeping up this arrangement after the remodel is over.  Who needs a formal dining room, right?

Our dining room temporarily converted into a cozy little playroom
