First thing on the list - a popcorn movie. Little Paige got in on the action... 10 minutes after this happy picture was taken, Whitney was screaming because Paige had thrown her popcorn all over the couch and floor.
At bedtime, Whitney chose to sleep in Gwen's bed. As long as it's not my bed, she could sleep wherever she wanted.
Saturday morning was Whitney's soccer game. This week, they played a team where all the girls seemed to be a head taller than all of our little girls, which did not fare well for the Pink Unicorns. No goals for Whitney, but when a girl on the opposite team broke away with the ball towards our goal, Whitney caught up to her and kicked the ball of out bounds at the last minute. The parents on the sidelines cheered and the other coach called out "Nice block #12!". When Whitney came up to me, I praised her, asking her if she knew she did a good job blocking the ball and she replied "I was trying to kick it in the goal".
Then on Sunday, we had a playdate with Dylan and her mommy at Six Flags.
Paige went on her first ride. She got a bit scared when the swings were up in the air and reached up to wrap her arms around me. We stayed in hugging position the whole ride, which I loved - I might just need to take her on that again. I think the experience traumatized her a bit, because she refused to get on a horse on the merry go round after that.
Whitney was finally 42 inches tall and was thrilled to be able to go on a ride all by herself.
Oh, and here's a walrus that kept pressing it's mouth up to the glass and spitting up it's meal of whole fish for the world to see. It was pretty disgusting.
Gwen had her own fun time that weekend, seeing family, driving a golf cart around and meeting her 2nd (or 3rd? or 2nd once removed?) cousin Kate (the only other 6 year old at the event).
