You don't ditch your friends for some guy

Today we met Gwen's BFF, Jordan, at the park.  As the girls were running around with Whitney hot on their trail, Gwen ran off and the next thing I know, she's standing in the middle of a tire swing with a little boy who we later found out was 5 year old Julian.  They swung on the tire swing together for a while and became fast friends.  Julian, having also seen Tangled (Gwen's latest favorite movie), indulged Gwen's latest obsession - role playing princesses - by assuming the identity of Flynn Rider while Gwen got to be Rapunzel.  Gwen and Julian ran through the park together, leaving poor little Jordan behind.  Jordan was able to get Gwen back for a minute when a swing opened up next to her and she called out "Gwen!  Gwen!  There's a swing open!", but Julian stood by waiting, watching Gwen swing.  Now that's dedication, and next thing I knew, Gwen was off with Julian again talking about towers, fake mommies, and letting down her hair.

Well, Gwen learned her first lesson in girl-hood today when I reminded her not to forget to play with her friend Jordan.  At first she said "But, I'm playing with someone else right now", but she quickly saw the light and called out looking for her friend "Jordan!  Jordan!  We all three can play together".  Jordan, Julian and Gwen happily ran about, but there were times when Jordan wanted to go one way and Julian the other and both would call out for Gwen to follow them.  At one point I saw her ran 5 steps towards one of them and then stop and go towards the other, and then stop again, truly torn.  While it's hard to compete with Flynn Rider, in the end, the girls rode their bikes away together and exchanged lots of hugs by the cars when saying goodbye.  Whitney and Gwen even started fighting over who would give Jordan the last hug and balance was restored in Girl World.
